Is the Future Still Finnish? Situating Digital Competence in the New Finnish National Core Curriculum

The aim of this paper is to situate digital competence as a key component of the new (2016) Finnish National Core Curriculum. The paper investigates the evolution, current state of play and prospects for integration of digital competence into the new Finnish National Core Curriculum. The investigation concludes that the influence of these curriculum reforms for digital education may extend beyond Finland’s borders.
